Elementary Contest Directions

Put your building skills and creativity to the test with our Elementary Science Contest!  This year’s challenge is to build the best bird bath.  Entries will be judged by a panel of local naturalists on usefulness, durability, creativity of design, and uniqueness of materials.  Winners in the K-1st grade, 2-3rd grade, and 4-5th grade categories will be announced at the end of the Arbor Day celebration, and prizes from local businesses will be awarded.  Winning bird baths will also be put on display in the Bird Observation Area at the Rieth Interpretive Center for all of Goshen’s park-goers (and birds) to enjoy.  The contest is open to all Goshen resident children ages Kindergarten through 5th grade.  Simply bring your project into the Rieth Interpretive Center on Arbor Day between 4:30-6:30pm and fill out an entry form upon arrival!  Contestants must be present for the prize handout to win, and all non-winning projects are to be taken home after the festival that day.  Good luck!
